About Sanivat
SANIVAT is a Danida-funded project that supports research in health impacts of water, sanitation and hygiene interventions and how people perceive hygiene, health risks and different types of hygiene promotion. The project also aims to build capacity in relevant national institutions to conduct risk assessment and perception studies on human health and hygiene aspects relating to water supply, sanitation and hygiene promotion.

SANIVAT presentations in WHO Workshop on Sharing Lessons Learnt and Experiences in Implementation of Integrated Water, Sanitation and Hygiene in Schools and Healthcare Stations

On 28 May 2010, National Institute for Occupational and Environmental Health (NIOEH) in co-operation with World Health Organization (WHO) organized a workshop on Sharing Lessons Learnt and Experiences in Implementation of Integrated Water, Sanitation and Hygiene in Schools and Healthcare Stations. This was part of the project to scale up models for integrated water supply and sanitation for schools and healthcare facilities at commune level. SANIVAT were invited to participate in this workshop and had two presentations. One focused on the opportunities for improved child centred hygiene and sanitation promotion in local institutions, which was part of Thilde Rheinlander’s PhD study and presented by Dr. Do Thuy Trang on behalf of the author since Thilde  Rheinlander could not come to Vietnam. The second presentation was delivered by Ms. Le Thi Thanh Xuan with the topic “Latrine use behaviour among school children in Lao Cai province”. This was also part of Xuan’s PhD study.
